The market is open for orders, be sure to place your order by Monday night at 8 pm! Christmas trees and wreaths are now available on the market to pre-order! Click the “Holiday Decorations” tab on the left side of the market screen to see what we have to offer this year! All proceeds go to funding the farmers market.

Did you miss our raised bed workshop this spring? Here’s your chance to join us Saturday November 11th from 9 am to noon for a hands on raised bed workshop for all skill levels at the Grayson LandCare/IFM office at 108 Courthouse Street. Well, guys, that’s a wrap on our outdoor market! If you weren’t able to make it on Friday, you missed a wonderful Fall Finale! Cheers to Michelle Pridgen for another spectacular market season!

There’s a really wide variety of produce on the market this week! Start looking through your favorite fall recipes and order your ingredients on the market before 8 pm tomorrow night! Eating nutrient dense foods fresh from the market not only supports our local economy, but will provide you and your family with better health and energy! It’s a win/win!

It’s been a remarkable outdoor market season and we are all a little sad to see it end on Friday. Luckily, you can still take advantage of all of the wonderful products our vendors have to offer on the online market! A few words of wisdom, be sure to check the market as soon as you can on Wednesday nights, produce starts to go fast! Also, be sure to check back throughout the week because new stuff is often listed later in the week.

FALL FINALE is October 13TH! Join us for our final day of the outdoor market for the 2017 season THIS FRIDAY! Our apple dessert contest AND giant pumpkin contest, both win a $100 first prize! We’ll also have a community apple pressing! If you have apples and/or containers to donate, please let us know! School is out so be sure to bring the kids! We’ll be learning how to operate a manual apple press, designing new apple presses, and painting!

The Arts Council will be hosting “Tales of Terror, An Evening of Spooky Storytelling”. All tickets are $5 and available at the door.
Shows are as follows:
Thursday, October 12, at 7:30 pm at the Rex Theater in Galax.
Friday, October 13 at 7:30 pm at First Presbyterian Church in Hillsville.
Saturday, October 14 at 7:30 at the Fries Theater in Fries.

Grayson Landcare is having their Annual Meeting and Potluck starting at 6:00 pm, Monday, October 16th, 2017 at Summerfield Farm (the Fant’s residence), 6957 Peach Bottom Road, Independence, VA 24348.
