On behalf of the Independence Farmers Market, I’d like to wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!

The Market will be closed next week. There will be no Market on December 27th. We will open back up for orders on Wednesday, December 27th, and those orders will be ready to be picked up on January 3rd, 2018!

Without you, we wouldn’t be able to have such an awesome market! Thank you for supporting your friends and neighbors by shopping with us!

IFM gift certificates are not only a great gift, but also a wonderful way to introduce your friends and neighbors to our Market! This is the last week to order before Christmas!

Blue Feather Creek Farm is having a sale on chicken! These tasty, free-range birds are available for a limited time only at $3.50/pound. Because this farm is located in North Carolina, please contact Jonathan Houser directly at (757)-687-9438 or e-mail him at houserjc@appstate.edu to get in on this great deal!

Keep in mind, the Market will be closed the Week of December 24th-30th! There will be no Market on December 27th. We will open back up for orders on Wednesday, December 27th, and those orders will be ready to be picked up on January 3rd, 2018!

A lot of the produce that is available can also be stored for longer periods! Take advantage of that garlic and those potatoes while they are available! Don't miss our last Holiday Market of the season THIS Saturday!

The Market is now open for orders! We should have a few more produce listings over the next couple of days, so continue to check back if you don’t find what you’re looking for tonight. Just be sure to place your order by Monday, Dec. 4th at 8 pm. All orders will be available to be picked up on Wednesday, Dec. 6th between 4 and 6 pm at the Grayson Landcare office (108 Courthouse Ln.).

Are you looking for ways to support the Independence Farmers Market this holiday season? In addition to gift certificates, we also have t-shirts ($15) and shopping bags ($3) available for purchase! Click on the “Clothing” tab on the left side of the Market page to order. T-shirts and bags will also be available to purchase at our Holiday Market this Saturday.

We’ll have LOTS of craft vendors with all sorts of beautiful gifts for your friends and family this holiday season! Bring the kids by the Kid’s Corner to make some ornaments (and memories)! Plan to enter your best chili in our chili cook-off, cash and CD prizes available for the top 10 winners! If you don’t feel like making chili, but do want to eat some, a $5 donation gets you a taste of all of the entries! We’ll also have our pesticide-free trees and wreaths available to purchase while supplies last! Stick around for the Christmas parade and tree lighting right after the Market!

If you didn’t get a chance to come out to the Holiday Market this past Friday, you missed a GREAT day! Seriously, you guys, from the copper plant tags, to the beautiful wool and crocheted items, to the fermentation kits, beautiful garlands, superior pottery, children’s books, aprons, fancy bird feeders, ornaments, jewelry, meats and MORE it’s a one stop Christmas shop! We sure are feeling thankful for all of our wonderful customers and vendors! Thank you all for everything you do to support the Market! We still have a lot of yummy goods on the Market so be sure to place your order this week by Monday night at 8 pm!

What an exciting week for all of us foodies out there! Whether you know exactly what you’re cooking this week or are still trying to decide, there are lots of fresh, local foods available to order on the Market! If you’re not into cooking, or just don’t have the time, check out the amazing “Baked Goods” section and show up to Thanksgiving with a delicious, homemade goody for the desserts table or fresh, homemade bread! We also have a variety of canned goods under the “Processed Foods” tab to add just the right touch to your Turkey Day spread.

Remember to receive a 20% discount by pre-ordering your pesticide-free trees and wreaths on the Online Market! For those who wish to pick up their trees and wreaths at the Holiday Market THIS Friday, please place your order by 8 pm this Monday, November 20th!

The Kid’s Corner will be open with free activities for the little ones (and the young at heart). Don’t worry about getting too cold, coffee and cider will be available for a donation! Singers from the Highland Camerata will be joining us at 11:30 to sing us into the holiday spirit!
