Good morning!

I hope everyone is enjoying their snowy weekend! If you haven’t already, be sure to get your orders into the Market by tomorrow night at 8 pm. A lot of the produce that is available can also be stored for longer periods! Take advantage of that garlic and those potatoes while they are available! We also offer gift certificates and have several other gift options available to order!

The Market is now open for orders! We should have a few more produce listings over the next couple of days, so continue to check back if you don’t find what you’re looking for tonight. Just be sure to place your order by Monday, Dec. 4th at 8 pm. All orders will be available to be picked up on Wednesday, Dec. 6th between 4 and 6 pm at the Grayson Landcare office (108 Courthouse Ln.).

Are you looking for ways to support the Independence Farmers Market this holiday season? In addition to gift certificates, we also have t-shirts ($15) and shopping bags ($3) available for purchase! Click on the “Clothing” tab on the left side of the Market page to order. T-shirts and bags will also be available to purchase at our Holiday Market this Saturday.

Be sure to join us in Town Park this Saturday from 11am-3pm for our final Holiday Market of the season! We’ll have LOTS of craft vendors with all sorts of beautiful gifts for your friends and family this holiday season! Bring the kids by the Kid’s Corner to make some ornaments (and memories)! Plan to enter your best chili in our chili cook-off, cash and CD prizes available for the top 10 winners! If you don’t feel like making chili, but do want to eat some, a $5 donation gets you a taste of all of the entries! We’ll also have our pesticide-free trees and wreaths available to purchase while supplies last! Stick around for the Christmas parade and tree lighting right after the Market!

This is a great opportunity to support farmers that are sustainably growing trees in our area AND the Independence Farmers Market! Trees and wreaths will be available to be picked up at the Holiday Market in Town Park THIS Saturday! If you didn’t get a chance to come out to the Holiday Market this past Friday, you missed a GREAT day! Don’t worry, you get one last chance on Saturday, December 2nd, from 11am-3pm in Town Park to come out and shop! Our community is so talented! Seriously, you guys, from the copper plant tags, to the beautiful wool and crocheted items, to the fermentation kits, beautiful garlands, superior pottery, children’s books, aprons, fancy bird feeders, ornaments, jewelry, meats and MORE it’s a one stop Christmas shop! We’ll also have our Chili Contest, free to enter, $5 to taste. 1st prize is $100 sponsored by Chestnut Creek Counselling,$40 2nd prize sponsored by Jack and Jesse’s Melons and 3rd-10 prizes sponsored by the Mabe Family. Stay for the Parade( we’ll be in it) and the Town festivities! Visit with Santa in Town Park after the parade and more. A fun day for the whole family!

We sure are feeling thankful for all of our wonderful customers and vendors! Thank you all for everything you do to support the Market! We still have a lot of yummy goods on the Market so be sure to place your order this week by Monday night at 8 pm!

Hilltop Farm is all done for the season! They would like to thank all of you for all of the wonderful support they have received this year!

What an exciting week for all of us foodies out there! Whether you know exactly what you’re cooking this week or are still trying to decide, there are lots of fresh, local foods available to order on the Market! If you’re not into cooking, or just don’t have the time, check out the amazing “Baked Goods” section and show up to Thanksgiving with a delicious, homemade goody for the desserts table or fresh, homemade bread! We also have a variety of canned goods under the “Processed Foods” tab to add just the right touch to your Turkey Day spread.

Be sure to save some money and pre-order your pesticide-free Christmas trees and wreaths on the Online Market (click the “Hoilday Decorations” tab on the left side of the market screen)! *Trees and wreaths not pre-ordered will be 20% more expensive on the day of our Holiday Markets. * This means, you should place your order by Monday night at 8 pm if you plan to pick up a tree at our Nov. 24th Holiday Market and don’t want to pay the higher costs. However you plan to do it, the proceeds go to funding the Independence Farmers Market and we sure do appreciate your support!

You guys, we have some great vendors! It’s NOVEMBER and there is still a variety of produce available to order! Be sure to thank your farmers the next time you see them! Also, check out the “Baked Goods” section and cut down on time by letting our awesome vendors cook for you this year!

Think Thanksgiving!


Good morning!

I hope everyone is managing to stay warm and cozy amidst this cold and dreary weekend! If you like to plan ahead, go ahead and secure some of your Thanksgiving goods from the Market this week! Sweet potatoes, garlic, and butternut squash, all grown locally by your friends and neighbors, would make a great addition to your table this year! If you haven’t checked our Baked Goods section lately, then be sure to when you have a chance. We have a really great variety that is sure to please everyone’s sweet tooth! Save some time and continue to grow your local economy by letting our awesome vendors do some of the baking for you this year!

We’d like to welcome back Feed Me Ma to the Market. With a variety of gluten free baked goods and holiday garlands, they make a great addition to our Market!

Did you miss our raised bed workshop this spring? Here’s your chance to join us THIS Saturday November 11th from 9 am to noon for a hands on raised bed workshop for all skill levels at the Grayson LandCare/IFM office at 108 Courthouse Street. Cost is $10 and light refreshments will be served. The class is limited to 30 people. Please email Michelle Pridgen at independencefarmersmarket@gmail.com to register.

November 24th and December 2nd, be sure to join us in Town Park for our Holiday Markets! In addition to our awesome vendors, pesticide-free Christmas trees and wreaths will be available to be picked up and extra will be available if you did not get a chance to place your order Online.
