If you are looking for something to do this afternoon, Common Ground Talks will be hosting the first of a monthly lecture series focusing on issues that concern our community. Today, come out to learn about carbon fees and dividends, a policy proposal to account for the burning of fossil fuels. This free event takes place today at the Galax Public Library at 5:30 pm. All are welcome.

It’s 60 degrees and the birds are chirping, Spring really is almost here and I couldn’t be more excited! Our May 11th opening day of the outdoor market will be here before we know it!

We’ll talk about planting dates, spacing, interplanting and succession plantings as well as organic pest and disease control. Using information from the best national and local gardeners you’ll learn to apply these techniques to a single raised bed or a full sized market garden. Hope to see you then!
