Sorbet will be available to purchase (all proceeds go directly to the Independence Farmers Market) by the bowl or pint (so bring a cooler if you plan to take it home)! In an effort to increase shoppers on the Online Market, we’re running a new promotion, and we need your help! It’s super easy. You find new customers to shop on the Market, and when they place their first order, you get a free market bag! Just be sure they put your name in the “Comments” section at the bottom of their first order. Let’s see who can get the most new customers to place their first orders! With the abundance of products currently on the Market, now is the perfect time to introduce new customers to all that we have to offer!

Twin County Regional will provide an educational booth with Hands-Only-CPR, EHAC training and information, nutrition, blood pressure, BMI screenings and more. Over at the Kid’s Corner, we’ll be sampling some tasty, kid approved garden snacks from 10-11 am!

The Market is OPEN for July 11th pickup!

Good evening!

First of all, happy 4th of July! Second, check out the Market this week when you have a chance! Talk about produce! New on the Market this week are tomatoes and peppers! I’m sure I’ll be reminding you all a lot this Summer, but it’s never too early to start canning all of this yummy produce so you can enjoy it later! You can also reserve your Thanksgiving turkey from Heart Moss Farm by clicking on the “Meat” tab on the left hand side and scrolling down and clicking on “Turkey”.

This Friday at the Market is Herb Day! Chef Jen will be offering cooking demonstrations using fresh herbs! At the Kids Corner, we’ll be learning some yoga poses for fun, focus and relaxation! We’ll also be celebrating Herb Day by tasting and smelling some popular herbs.

Market is CLOSED this week.

Because of the July 4th holiday next Wednesday, we have decided to not open the Market this week. I apologize for the late notice and hope it doesn’t cause too much inconvenience. The Market will re-open for orders on the night of July 4th and pickup will be the following Wednesday, July 11th.

When you have a moment, please be sure to update your phone number on the Online Market. The best number to use would be the one where I can most likely reach you between 4-6 pm on Wednesday afternoons.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to the the Ice Cream Social this past weekend. Thanks to all of you, we were able to raise $958 for the Market!

Join us for the 7th annual Kids Day June 29 from 9am to 1pm at Town Park. Kids Day features free fun for the whole family during the entire Market. Activities include learning to throw a lasso, printing with wood blocks, milking a “cow,” contests every hour with Miss Laura and more. All activities are free and open to kids of all ages. Community partners include Cowbody Don, 4H, Virginia Department of Health, Blue Ridge Discovery Center, local artist Ellie Kirby, hula hoops with Laura, Girl Scouts, and Bessie the wooden cow. Kids Day began in 2012 and was our 1st Farmers Market Event. It remains one of the most popular activities at the Farmers Market!
