It’s FERMENTATION FRIDAY! Please join us in Town Park this Friday for an awesome fermentation demonstration by Carrie and Donna of Bird and Hopper Farm. Fermentation kits will be available to purchase (they make great gifts!) and fermentation samples will be available for free.

Cooking Day with Chef Jen is October 5th. Join us in Town Park for some tasty free samples as well as a free winter squash tasting!

The Apple Festival is coming up on October 12th. There will be a free community cider pressing. Apple cider will also be available to purchase, all proceeds go to the Independence Farmers Market. We’ll also have an apple dessert contest. 1st place prize, $100, second place, $30, and third place, $20! Be sure to have your dessert at the Market no later than 10:15 am on the day of.

Please don’t forget to place your Market order by 8 pm Monday night. Christmas trees and wreaths are now available to pre-order! These beautiful pesticide free trees are grown in Grassy Creek by Jason and Felicia Joyce of Brookgreen Farm. Trees will be available for pick up at the 1st Winter Market at Town Park from 11am to 3 pm November 23. Proceeds of the sale of this product will go towards funding activities at the Market.

I have noticed that Online grocery orders are now becoming a thing in bigger cities, here at the Independence Farmers Market, we’ve been offering it for years! We can even offer curbside pickup if you don’t care to get out of your car! You just need to place your order no later than Monday night.
