It’s 60 degrees and the birds are chirping, Spring really is almost here and I couldn’t be more excited! Our May 11th opening day of the outdoor market will be here before we know it!

We have launched a Go Fund Me! page for the market. We love what we do here in the community and with no large grants this year, we could use some help! Plan to join us THIS Saturday February 17, 9 am to noon for a hands on planning workshop to maximize your vegetable production for all skill levels at the Grayson LandCare/IFM office at 108 Courthouse Street. We’ll talk about planting dates, spacing, interplanting and succession plantings as well as organic pest and disease control. Using information from the best national and local gardeners you’ll learn to apply these techniques to a single raised bed or a full sized market garden. Hope to see you then! Common Ground Talks will be hosting a lecture on carbon fees and dividends, a policy proposal to account for the burning of fossil fuels. This free event will take place THIS Sunday, February 18th, at the Galax Public Library at 5:30. All are welcome.
