At Ashe County High School, agriculture students are raising Rhode Island Red Hens. During the school day, students are responsible for feeding, watering, collecting and washing eggs. Part of the curriculum is to provide opportunities for students to raise healthy animals. We are selling the eggs to raise funds for student opportunities in our FFA Chapter and Agricultural Education Program. Opportunities include trips, such as State FFA Convention in Raleigh, National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, competing in competitive events, and leadership workshops to name a few. Funds are also used to assist students in purchasing their Official FFA Jacket.

One dozen farm fresh eggs ranging in shades of brown and maybe a blue one here and there. Our girls our happy girls roaming our small farm . We are trying to keep our egg prices affordable. We have enough inflation and we need to eat healthy. The cost of feed is getting out of control and if We can do our part and try to keep prices at an affordable price we will do what we can.
